U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci won a Republican poll in the governor’s race conducted after the We the People Convention near Columbus last month.
More than 300 tea party and liberty groups attended the event and heard from candidates Attorney General Mike DeWine, Secretary of State Jon Hused and Renacci. Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor did not attend the event.
Among the attendees, Renacci won nearly 62 percent in the poll. Husted was at 23 percent and DeWine at 15 percent.

“Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?”
That quote from Donald Trump about fellow Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina has set off a firestorm of debate about the way Trump talks about women.
Fiorina said Trump is turning on her because she’s rising in the polls and “getting under his skin.”
Other candidates have jumped on Trump’s comments.
Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in Columbus Thursday said Trump “seems to delight in insulting women every chance he gets.” She also said she’d love to debate him.
